At CHILD1st.ca, we believe that a child's well-being comes first, unconditionally and without compromises.

CHILD1st.ca was initially established as a one-stop online support system for parents, caregivers and organizations. In joining forces with others, we are able to provide valuable information, tools and sources, as well as special links related to children's safety, creative encouragement and other useful tips towards offering children the opportunity to grow in their individual ways during their ongoing care-giving needs.

In our new world, where economic survival, single parenting and marriage break-ups, in some cases have introduced new versions of the what stay-at-home child care means for a child - it is important to break out of the old box and realize that there is an ever-growing commercial childcare industry appeal facing us all, one which requires, in some cases, much more attention then perhaps is being given due to policies and perhaps lack of funding.

One reality we all face is that family circles becomming more like community circles, where children are being raised outside of their homes; it is due to this ever-growing phenomenom that CHILD1st.ca has been motivated to find ways to ensure that in the best interest of the children, revised information and updated guidelines are enforced, as well as made available to everyone.

We believe in strength and force of a community, and like to encourage others towards child wellness and safety, through positive reinforcement, discipline through communication versus corporal punishent, empathy and patience towards listening and paying attention to signals, as well as educate our children by way of example.

CHILD1st.ca participates in fundraisings, special causes, and is working on a series of education and developmental and sponsorship projects. We realize the value of up-to-date resourceful information applicable to today's present needs.

Our most immediate goal is to produce a series of manuals and guides, comprised of invaluable information supported by local and international expert individuals, organizations and intitutions. Information which would be readily available online - 24/7, 12/365 (environmentaly friendly digital format), as well as in tangible form for additional distribution. Some areas and topics include:

• Environmental Safety & Hygiene Programs
• Abuse Prevention & Rehabilitation Programs
• Transportation Safety & Prevention Programs

Other goals include:

• Developing Safe Playgrounds
• Developing a Creative Center (s)
• Producing high-end coffee table books for fundrasing to support diverse causes
• Producing annual calendar for fundraising to support diverse causes
• Producing a series of postcards for fundraising to support diverse causes
• Developing an annual award and sponsorship program for children with special abilities
• Developing a program for children with Police and Fire Departments to encourage an approachable. friendly image, rather than on of fear and threat
